I have a fair amount of leaves and debris that gets into my pool. The skimmer worked well but that meant the small stuff was headed to the filter. I found that for this skimmer that it worked really well to put the sock around the outside vs on the skimmer basket.
This works wonders, in 24 hours and a ton of gunk that could not see in the pool. This will save the sand filter from having to be backwashed. After pulling it out after 24 hours I just rinsed it off and reuse it, not sure how long each one will last but the 30 pack seems like it will last quite a few seasons.
In my pursuit of more efficient and cost-effective maintenance strategies for cleaning equipment, I've discovered a novel use for a common pool maintenance item—pool skimmer socks—that has transformed the way I maintain vacuum cleaners.
The skimmer socks do exactly what they should do! They catch pollen and leaves from going into the filter. I empty th basket then hose it off to remove the fine particles and it’s ready to go again. They’re very fine so don’t know how long they will last. I’ve only had these a few days but believe they are going to be a real bargain for the buck.
I was in total shock seeing how much debris and pollen, etc that these socks catch! They are easy to clean by just hosing them off. I change mine every seven days. Our pool water is pristine! They socks fit snugly around the basket. Very pleased and with the quantity of 30, I’ll have plenty to start the new summer pool season next year!
